Karl McGuiness

Karl McGuiness is currently the Chief Product Architect at Okta. Prior to this, they were the Lead Software Engineer at OneLogin, Inc from January 2012 to December 2013 where they were responsible for Identity & Access Management technologies for a rapidly growing IDaaS startup.

Before that, Karl worked at Philips from November 2003 to December 2011 as a Software Architect. Karl was part of the architecture team for Healthcare Informatics business group and was responsible for defining and shipping a common healthcare development platform across Philips Healthcare business units. Karl also drove the development of the platform’s Identity Provider and HIPAA compliant security model to support patient and provider access across complex customer environments.

Karl started their career as a Senior Systems Engineer at Cable & Wireless from June 2000 to November 2003.

They work with Jon Todd - Chief Architect, Craig Weissman - Chief Architect, and Walter vonKoch - VP, Engineering. Their manager is Sagnik Nandy, President, Technology & CTO.
