Christian Linhart

Group Chief Procurement Officer at Ooredoo Group

Christian Linhart was appointed Ooredoo Group Chief Procurement Officer in February 2016, after a successful period as Ooredoo’s Executive Director of Group Procurement.

Christian first joined Ooredoo in 2015 and has played a key role in the company’s ongoing organisational transformation programme, which aims to align Ooredoo’s local procurement and sourcing strategies more closely with its global capabilities.

He has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a procurement specialist, and in the last 10 years has secured more than 15 major procurement projects in the telecommunications space in three continents.

Before joining Ooredoo, Christian was Deputy Group CPO in MobileTelesystems (MTS). He also served on the Board of selected MTS operating companies. Prior to that, he worked in top-tier management consulting companies, McKinsey and A.T. Kearney, finishing in the role of Principal.

Christian has more than 18 years’ experience in the procurement field, and has received a number of significant industry awards, including a 2012 Global Procurement Leader Award, and the Russian Procurement Transparency Award, in 2011 and 2012.

He has a Joint Master’s degree in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and he has also spent a year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA.
