Hitesh Sarabu

Hitesh Sarabu is a highly skilled software engineer with extensive experience in developing innovative solutions across multiple companies. Currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since November 2025, Hitesh previously held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Discord, where significant contributions included leading the development of Sparky, a GPT-4 and Whisper-powered meeting assistant, and designing a petabyte-scale Data Quality engine. Prior experience at Capital One involved creating an award-winning anti-money laundering reporting tool and improving legacy applications, alongside mentoring team members. Hitesh also served in various technical roles at UW-Madison's Division of Information Technology and had an internship at Optum focusing on data engineering. Hitesh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Skills include AWS, Docker, Python, NodeJS, and Java.
