Jonathan Droege

Jonathan Droege has a range of work experience in various fields. Jonathan started their career as an English Language Instructor at Daegu University from 2008 to 2010. Jonathan then worked as an API Steel Sales Associate at POSCO from 2012 to 2013, where they supported sales activities for flat steel products.

In 2013, Jonathan co-founded CloudSolar and worked as a Front End Developer, responsible for operations and product development. Jonathan also contributed to the SunPort project by CloudSolar as an Operations Cowboy from 2013 to 2018, assisting with operations and marketing tasks for the SunPort smart device.

From 2018 to 2020, Jonathan worked at Rural Sourcing as a Senior Developer. In addition to full-stack software development for fortune 1000 clients, they served as a team lead, overseeing frontend architecture, reviewing PRs, and coaching on best practices. Technologies used in this role include AWS, Java Spring, Node, React, AngularJS, and Angular10.

Most recently, Jonathan joined OpenEye Scientific in 2020 as a Platform Developer. In this role, they contribute to backend development for the Orion platform, which involves supporting massive parallel cloud computing for scientific applications. Their primary languages for this role are Python and Golang.

Jonathan Droege has a diverse education history. Jonathan completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Hillsdale College in the years 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued further studies at Korea University, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Development Economics and International Development from 2010 to 2012. Currently, Jonathan is enrolled at Arizona State University, where they are working towards a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 2019 to 2023.
