Data Engineer - Fusión BBVA at Open Sistemas

Jorge Zapata Muñoz has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering and data science. Jorge started their career as a Consultor de eficiencia energética at E4e Soluciones from August 2015 to October 2016. Jorge then worked as an Analista de datos at Autana Business Partners from November 2017 to April 2018, where they gained experience in automation, data cleaning, mining, and modeling using Python and SQL.

Later, they joined DINSA as a Data Scientist from May 2018 to August 2018, where they programmed algorithms in R, performed data loading, cleaning, visualization, and statistical analysis. Jorge also generated and parameterized machine learning models.

Jorge then worked at OpenSistemas as a Data Scientist - DataShowroom from September 2018 to November 2018. Here, their responsibilities included data science tasks such as programming algorithms and analyzing data.

At OpenSistemas, Jorge also worked as a Data Engineer - Decathlon Conocimiento de Usuario 360º. Jorge'srole involved the transformation and transfer of data from Redshift to BigQuery using GCP products. Jorge generated workflows for data transformation, developed operators for Apache Airflow, and automated the installation and configuration of the platform using Ansible.

Currently, Jorge is working as a Data Engineer - Fusion BBVA at OpenSistemas since February 2019. Jorge is involved in the implementation of one of the highly-rated platforms at BBVA, which processes TB of data in real-time from various data sources.

Jorge Zapata Muñoz completed their education with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Prior to that, Jorge earned their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, graduating between 2010 and 2015.

Additionally, in 2018, they participated in the "Applied Data Science with Python Specialization" offered by the University of Michigan.
