Doug is the Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, leading the team responsible for all our corporate development activities.

Doug has 25 years of transactional success identifying, negotiating, closing and integrating acquisitions in technology driven industries.

Doug rejoined OpenText in 2019 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, after serving two-years as President & Chief Executive Officer of Quarterhill Inc., an acquisition-focused, publicly traded company.

Doug has held various business and legal roles with OpenText over the past decade including Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Vice President, General Counsel & Assistant Secretary, and Executive Sponsor to OpenText Brazil operations.

Prior to joining OpenText, Doug worked for Nortel Networks Corporation in a variety of senior legal roles, including Managing Attorney, where he was responsible for the company’s global M&A legal function.

Doug holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queen’s University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree from Trinity College, The University of Toronto.
