Christopher Palassis

Christopher Palassis currently serves as Vice President of Engineering at Orb, a position held since September 2025. Prior to this role, Christopher was an Engineer VIII at deciBel Research, Inc. from June 2022 to September 2025, where responsibilities included acting as technical project manager and leading teams in the development of signal processing innovations. At Xylem from March 2016 to May 2022, Christopher held the title of Distinguished Engineer and Director of Sensor Development, leading R&D and innovation for water technology solutions. Earlier experiences include leading the Optical Platform Team at YSI, a Xylem brand, directing optical sensor development, and serving as a Laser Engineer at AdvR Inc., focusing on photonic crystal projects for government agencies. Christopher's career began as an Optical Engineer at Sony Electronics, where optical testing tools were developed. Christopher holds a Master of Science in Physics from Montana State University-Bozeman and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Cincinnati.
