Hannah Carter

Manager, Hood River Store at Oregon Wildlife Foundation

I began my career at Spruce Gifts and Provisions as a seasonal customer service specialist in 2015. While attending the Oregon State University I worked at Corvallis area coffee shops during the school year, always returning to Spruce in the summers.

In 2019, after achieving my BS in Technical Theater, I was promoted to Assistant Manager Two at Spruce Gifts and Provisions. My primary focus has been on improving branding and in store representation of our parent organization, the Oregon Wildlife Foundation. My first step in this process was to create the logo for the Store. Additionally I assist with buying, merchandising, inventory management, and day to day operations. I also function as one of the key onboarding staff members, tasked with training new hires, particularly as it pertains to our espresso bar.

I am proud that I played a critical role in building our eCommerce site, and function as the social media manager for Spruce. Other noted projects and tasks include negotiating with contractors for onsite remodeling tasks and implementing a feature wall dedicated to foundation projects and information.

Having worked for Spruce, and the Oregon Wildlife Foundation, since I was a teenager, I have found opportunities to develop strong, positive relationships with both customers and fellow staff members. I have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to creatively problem solve, and am grateful for the freedom to take risks, which has helped me grow in both my professional and personal life.
