Jared Josephsen

Jared Josephsen is currently the Chief Legal Officer at Outdoorsy. Jared has previous experience working as a Senior Attorney at Itron, Inc. from March 2019 to August 2021 and as Senior Corporate Counsel at Rackspace Technology from October 2015 to March 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Corporate Attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati from October 2013 to October 2015.

During their time at Itron, Jared provided business-focused counsel and advice to the C-suite on general corporate matters and strategic transactions. Jared reported directly to the General Counsel and worked across a multi-disciplined legal team, collaborating with teams in finance, tax, and HR in executing general corporate and business operations, corporate and board governance, financial and SEC reporting (including 33 and 34 Act, 10K/Q, 8-K, 14A Proxy, Section 16), securities law, subsidiary management, and select technology and IP matters. Jared served as lead in-house advisor to Corporate Strategy and other cross-functional teams in structuring, negotiating, and executing M&A and other strategic transactions.

At Rackspace Technology, Jared served as Senior Corporate Counsel. In this role, they were responsible for providing legal support for the company’s global sales organization. This included reviewing and negotiating complex customer contracts, providing training on legal risks and compliance matters related to sales activities, and supporting the development of company policies and procedures related to sales practices.

As a Corporate Attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Jared advised public and private companies on a variety of corporate governance and securities law matters. Jared also represented clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other strategic transactions.

Jared Josephsen has a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where they graduated cum laude. Jared also has a B.B.A. and a B.S. from the University of Iowa in Finance, Economics, and Political Science.
