Sergey Nurk

Sergey Nurk is a Principal Applications Bioinformatician at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, with prior experience as a Senior Applications Bioinformatician at the same company. Sergey has conducted postdoctoral research at the National Human Genome Research Institute from July 2019 to July 2022 and held positions as a Junior Research Fellow at both the Center for Algorithmic Biotechnology at Saint Petersburg State University and the Algorithmic Biology Lab at Saint Petersburg State University. Sergey began a career in software engineering at Yandex, developing a web mining system for an address information service. Sergey holds a PhD in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from Saint Petersburg State University and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution, along with additional education at the Academy of Modern Software Engineering.
