Alessandro Gherardi Meit Ceng

Alessandro Gherardi PhD MEIT CEng currently serves as the Head of Control Systems at Oxford Quantum Circuits, a position held since October 2025. Prior to this role, Alessandro held various managerial and engineering positions at Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine from December 2019 to October 2025, including Engineering Manager, Hardware Group Manager, and Senior Principal Hardware Engineer. Experience also includes work as a Senior Electronic Design Engineer at McLaren Applied Technologies, focusing on the development of wearable medical and biometric products, and previous roles at BENTHAM INSTRUMENTS LIMITED, Expo Technologies, and several academic institutions. Alessandro earned a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Università degli Studi di Firenze and has a Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute.
