Director, Information Services at Pacific Community

The Pacific Community is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Johan “Bas” Berghoef as the Director Information Services, at the Pacific Community (SPC). His appointment will formally take effect on 28 May 2017. Johan holds a Bachelor Degree in Communication Systems from the University Of Applied Sciences Of Utrecht and he studied towards a Master Degree in Social Informatics at the University of Amsterdam. Johan is an experienced ICT leader with 20 years in Executive, consulting and Enterprise Architect positions. He is an engaging communicator focused on leading the establishment, optimization and management of digitised processes and strategic opportunities in order to improve information knowledge management and IT systems. Johan joins SPC from CITEC ICT, under the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation. As the Executive Director of CITEC ICT, he provides high level effective strategic leadership and supports the Queensland Government’s digital future. He is responsible for the stakeholder engagement, architecture, planning and innovation functions. Johan was previously employed by GHD, one of the world’s leading professional services companies. As Head of Strategy and Planning, and a member of the Information System leadership-team, he played a key role deriving the Information System strategy from the corporate strategy. Based on his experience as Senior Consultant, Johan is familiar with the Pacific region, having worked with a mining company in New-Caledonia and remotely managed the establishment of project offices in Vanuatu and Guam. Johan is fluent in English, French and Dutch. He will be based at SPC’s Headquarters in Noumea, NewCaledonia.
