Gilles Seutin

Gilles Seutin is the Chief Scientist at Parks Canada, where they manage a team that provides expert ecosystem-science advice to senior managers regarding protected areas and emerging science issues. With extensive experience in biodiversity conservation, Gilles has worked on protected areas in Canada and Latin America, contributing to global policy through the Convention on Biological Diversity and the World Heritage Convention. They previously held roles as Research Fellow at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and Adjunct Professor at McGill University, and also served in various capacities at Parks Canada, including Director of Legislation and Policy. Gilles holds a PhD in Biology from Queen's University and a Master of Science from Université de Montréal.
