Emily Powell

Emily Powell, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Research Scientist and Precision Genomics Manager at Parkview Health, a position held since May 2018. Previously, Emily held multiple roles at MD Anderson Cancer Center from July 2013 to May 2018, including Instructor and Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on patient-derived xenograft models to study human breast cancer metastasis. Prior to that, a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis involved the establishment of bioluminescent PDX models of breast cancer metastasis. Emily’s academic journey began at McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research as a graduate student, where research concentrated on Estrogen Receptor interactions in breast and prostate cancer. Emily earned a PhD in Oncology and Cancer Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a BS in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington.
