Aaron Karczmer

Aaron Karczmer serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Enterprise Services Officer. In this capacity, Aaron has global responsibility for customer operations, risk policy and operations (including financial crime), legal, regulatory and government relations, as well as risk and compliance oversight. He also oversees PayPal’s Environmental, Social and Governance program and strategy.

Aaron offers more than 20 years of experience building teams with an ongoing focus on leveraging multi-sector partnerships, data, and technology. Prior to joining PayPal in 2016, he spent nearly a decade at American Express serving in a variety of leadership roles, including leading financial crimes for the company, managing complex regulatory orders, and leading the design and implementation of corporate-wide policy and methodology frameworks, new technologies and organizational structures. Earlier in his career, Aaron held a number of roles at the New York County District Attorney’s office, including Unit Chief and co-founder of the Identity Theft Unit, responsible for investigating and prosecuting financial crime, data breaches, and cyber-crime. He received his JD from Stanford Law School and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Samuel Conti, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. Aaron is also a licensed attorney admitted to the New York bar.

Aaron is a member of the Polaris Advisory Council, advising the non-profit on its efforts to combat human trafficking, as well as a steering committee member of World Economic Forum’s Digital Trust Initiative.
