Kurt Jones

Kurt Jones, CPA, has extensive experience in finance and accounting, primarily within the mining and software industries. Currently serving as the Controller for the Gateway North Mine at Peabody Energy since December 2007, Kurt is responsible for preparing operating budgets and analyzing costs. Previous roles at Peabody Energy include Director of Mine Finance for the U.S. and Group Controller Southwest, where management of financial activities across multiple mines was essential. Kurt's background also includes positions at Siemens PLM Software, Saba, Broadbase Software, and PwC, where responsibilities ranged from leading revenue accounting functions and establishing external reporting frameworks to supervising day-to-day accounting operations and auditing. Kurt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
