Kawika Ohumukini

Sr Site Reliability Engineer, Kawika Ohumukini, helps grow the infrastructure and processes. While he was born in Chico, CA, he has called San Diego home since the 9th grade. On the dev side, he manages the existing code base and implements new products. He first became fascinated by development through his interest in hardware. While working to repair PC compatible computers, he learned assembly programming to diagnose the hardware. This initial development spark ignited a lifelong love of software engineering. The programming polyglot is familiar with BASIC, Intel Machine/Assembly, Pascal, C/C++, Java, Javascript, PHP, Python, Visual Basic, and Golang (plus a few more he might have forgotten). For him, development is a daily roller coaster ride of emotions, sending him through stages of wonder, curiosity, frustration and enlightenment multiple times a day. Kawika says that he loves PeopleConnect’s use of both old and new technology. That provides us with a stable base he use to pursue new innovations and opportunities.
