Tamra L. Kaplan is the SVP Operations at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Tamra has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on streamlining processes, reducing non-value-added activities, enhancing quality, and transforming patient care.

Kaplan started their career at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in 1998 as a supervisor. In 2009, they were promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, where they were responsible for the hospital's inpatient units, Level II trauma center, cancer, heart & vascular, and orthopedic institutes, ancillary and support services. During their time at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Kaplan generated multimillion dollar supply chain savings and led the design/build of a $31M Cancer Pavilion.

In January 2002, Kaplan joined MemorialCare as the Executive Director. Tamra was responsible for launching and implementing a system-wide Lean management system. Under their leadership, the company achieved CMS patient experience improvement from 2 to 4 stars in only 18 months. Kaplan also implemented over 600 improvement events, resulting in $63 million in potential expenses avoided.

Kaplan has been with Phoenix Children's Hospital since December 2017. In their current role as SVP Operations, they are responsible for leading and managing the hospital's operations.

Tamra L. Kaplan received their Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from UC Irvine and then went on to get their Doctor of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of the Pacific. Tamra completed their residency in Hospital Pharmacy Practice at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
