Eric Wertz

Eric Wertz is a Senior System Engineer at Picarro, Inc., specializing in ultra-sensitive gas detection for various applications using Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy since April 2020. In addition to this role, Wertz serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Saint Mary's College of California, independently teaching physics courses since August 2012. As a Professional Actor, Wertz has led numerous performances and received the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Male Performance in a Musical in 2011. Previously, Wertz held the position of Senior Physicist / Systems Engineer at Advanced Energy from February 2005 to April 2020, focusing on applied infrared spectroscopy across multiple sectors. Wertz began the professional career as a Software Quality Assurance Tester at Unit Development Corporation in early 2005. Educationally, Wertz holds a PhD in Physics from Penn State University and a BS in Physics from Bucknell University.
