Pinterest is the visual discovery engine. It is where you find and do what you love. With Pinterest, you can discover useful and relevant things that inspire you to do stuff.

**About Pinterest: **

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In your role, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

In this role, you will help define, design and disseminate Pinterest’s internal design system. Your work will have critical impact on our company’s engineers, designers and end users. You will help shape our design system’s components, patterns and guidelines. Through this work, you will have an enormous influence in helping Pinterest live up to its mission to bring inspiration and a positive impact to people’s lives.

What you’ll do:

  • Help our team build a best-in-class design system that supports our web, iOS and Android products.
  • Collaborate directly with designers and engineers to ensure that the components we design are shippable and rock solid.
  • Both assure that our system is meeting the needs of our designer and engineers and help evangelize frequent/appropriate usage.
  • Write usage guidelines for our system’s visual aesthetic, tokens, components and patterns that set both design and engineering up for success.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates deep systems thinking, visual aesthetic and an ability to translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design industry with a preference towards a broad domain knowledge of industries and platforms.
  • 2+ years working in the design systems space with a background in both web and mobile system design — experience being a “founder” of early-stage design systems is preferred.
  • A strong proclivity towards user-centered design is a major plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Scrappy can-do attitude with a focus on impact.
