Johan Jern

Johan Jern is the current Engineering Lead at Pipe. Johan has also worked as a Master's Thesis Worker, Course Assistant, Second Lieutenant, Software Engineer Intern, and Software Developer.

Johan Jern studied at Aalto University School of Science and Technology, where they worked as a Master's Thesis Worker and Course Assistant. Johan's work as a Course Assistant included holding exercise sessions and giving personal feedback to students. Johan Jern also did an internship at Emergence Oy, where they worked on a pilot project for Emergence's location service. Johan was responsible for the communication between Emergence's self sufficient IoT devices and backend.

After their time at Aalto University School of Science and Technology, Johan Jern worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Stripe and then as a Software Developer at Smartly.io. Johan is now the Engineering Lead at Pipe.

Johan Jern completed a Master of Science in Computer Science at Aalto University, followed by exchange studies at the National University of Singapore. Johan then completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Aalto University, and finally the Finnish Matriculation Exam with an average grade in the top 5%.

Their manager is Peter Downs, Director, Engineering. They work with Michael Dong - Software Engineer, Giorgi Tkeshelashvili - Software Engineer.
