Craig Mellott has extensive experience in design and innovation. Craig worked at PlayPower, Inc. from November 2016, where they were responsible for designing, researching, and developing new product concepts and strategies. Craig also managed the Innovation team and fostered an innovative culture. Prior to that, they worked at Playworld as an Industrial Designer starting in January 1996. Craig also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology from September 1998 to December 2000, where they specialized in design and art.
Craig Mellott has a diverse education history. Craig obtained a specialized certificate in "Innovation: From Creativity to Entrepreneurship" with a focus on strategic innovation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023. In 2020-2021, they attended Kedges, The Futures School, where they pursued strategic foresight without earning a specific degree. In 2013-2014, they completed a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) in Creativity, Innovation, and Change from Penn State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1996-1998. Craig earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, with a major in Communication Design and a minor in Fine Art studio arts, from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1991-1994. Craig also pursued Applied Arts Design at the Pennsylvania College of Technology from 1989-1991. Before their college education, Mellott served in the U.S Navy from 1984-1988, focusing on aviation. Craig obtained a high school diploma with a field of study in Art/Art Studies, General from Berwick Area High School in 1980-1984.
