James Wantuck

James Wantuck is the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at PlushCare. James is also a hospitalist physician and an assistant professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Wantuck received their medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in 2010. James then completed their residency in internal medicine at Stanford University Medical Center in 2013. While at Stanford, they also published epidemiological research in liver disease under the mentorship of Mindie Nguyen, MD.

In July 2013, Wantuck began working as a hospitalist physician at Palo Alto VA Hospital. James held this position until April 2022, when they joined PlushCare as its Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer.

James Wantuck is a medical doctor who graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. James also has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, they have an Android Basics Nanodegree from Udacity in computer programming. James also has certifications from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Health Informatics on FHIR and from the University of California, San Francisco in Genomics and Precision Medicine.
