Peter Herbert

Peter Herbert is a Senior Software Engineer at POINT. Peter has previously worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Merkle Data, a Backend Engineer at Sunsama, and a Senior Programmer Analyst at Mathematica Policy Research. Peter has also worked as a Quantitative Research Analyst at Acumen LLC. Peter Herbert has experience with configuring continuous integration and deployment processes using Travis-CI, configuring CloudFront for distributing client applications, designing data schemas and APIs, writing React wrappers for Highcharts, building and managing payment systems using Stripe API, building integrations for Asana, Trello, GitHub, JIRA, and Slack using respective RESTful APIs, building collaborative editors and plugins using ProseMirror, helping build macOS desktop applications using Electron, performing data migrations, schema design, query profiling and optimizations, deploying staging and production builds using Jenkins, and writing Terraform scripts for managing AWS route53 and security groups.

Peter Herbert has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from University of Portland. Additionally, they have studied Computer Science at City College of San Francisco, and has completed a program in Software Engineering and Web Development from Hack Reactor.
