Leela Rao

Leela Rao has extensive experience in environmental management and air quality practices, currently serving as the Manager of Air Quality Practices at the Port of Long Beach since January 2019. Previously, Leela held various positions at the California Air Resources Board from March 2009 to January 2019, including Air Resources Supervisor I and Air Pollution Specialist, where responsibilities encompassed regulatory management and mobile source control. Earlier in Leela's career, roles included Environmental Protection Specialist at the US Environmental Protection Agency from September 1999 to September 2003. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science from the University of California, Riverside, a Master of Environmental Management focusing on Resource Ecology from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Scripps College.
