Spike Ilacqua has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Spike started their career as a Software Engineer at Associative Design Technology in 1988 and then moved on to become the Chief Engineer at Software Tool & Die in 1989. In 1994, Spike co-founded Indra and served as the CTO, leading the company's growth and expansion into a large data center operation. Spike remained with Indra until 2020.

After leaving Indra, Spike worked as a Senior Software Engineer Consultant at Dojo4, LLC from 2012 to 2021. During their time there, they successfully delivered a variety of software projects for different clients, utilizing their skills in full-stack development and building REST API and GraphQL back-ends using Ruby on Rails. Spike also developed dynamic front-ends using React and Vue and built cross-platform mobile applications with React Native.

From 2016 to 2022, Spike worked as a Principal Software Developer at 6kites. Spike initially joined as a contractor and focused on developing integrations and apps for Jira, Salesforce, Hootsuite, as well as applications for Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Currently, Spike serves as the Principal Software Engineer at Praecipio, where they lead the team in using the latest technologies and processes to enhance their practices. Spike is passionate about helping their team members grow and takes the lead in designing and building client applications and internal tooling, leveraging their extensive experience in software architecture and development with a focus on Ruby on Rails and JavaScript frameworks like React.

Spike Ilacqua's education history includes completing a Linguistics degree with a focus on Italian at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2004 to 2006.
