Role Summary:

We are looking for motivated professionals like YOU with sound business insight and enthusiasm for sales to join, and help build our sales team. As a Business Development Rep (BDR), you are the backbone for our sales team. You'll be focused on fostering pre-sales interaction with prospects and identifying new opportunities that fill the sales pipeline. The BDR will prospect new client leads from a cold relationship to a warm one. You will drive pipeline through outbound prospecting and following up on marketing leads. You will build a relationship with the Account Executives you support and will work closely with them in coordinating strategic campaigns reaching target accounts.

You will report to our Head of Sales, David.

In this role you will:

  • Develop a clear understanding of our solution, best practices and competing solutions
  • Generate leads - using prospecting strategies to identify new opportunities, and engage and advise prospective clients
  • Identify the needs and challenges of prospective clients and share the value of Prefect
  • Create a great first impression to our prospects and customers by adding value during every customer touchpoint
  • Help bring in new business to Prefect, achieving monthly activity and pipeline goals
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to share customer feedback and insights
  • Continue building and enhancing a winning and overachieving sales culture
  • Champion our culture and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Embody ownership: contribute and advocate for your ideas, while also preventing projects from failing

Qualifications (you must have):

  • Experience in inside sales, business development in SaaS environment
  • Enthusiasm for developing sales skills through cold calling
  • Genuine curiosity in people, markets, technology, and business landscapes, with excellent researching skills, and a desire to learn and understand why our products are some of the most innovative on the market and can help with so many business challenges
  • Ability to thoughtfully listen and answer unexpected questions with ease
  • You are good at finding ways to motivate yourself and your teammates. Camaraderie and Team Spirit is the name of the game around here

About you (we’d like you to have):

  • A desire to grow your career in sales
  • Experience in SaaS sales cycles
  • Experience in a start-up
  • Understanding of Salesforce.com CRM, G-Suite and Solution Selling
  • … and an understanding of how and when to "break the mold" when the best practice for Prefect deviates from an industry standard
