Shukun Yang

Shukun Yang has diverse work experience in various scientific roles. In 2023, Shukun worked as a Scientist I, Oligonucleotide Chemistry at Prime Medicine, Inc. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2023, Shukun held multiple positions at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, including Graduate Teaching Assistant, Safety Officer, and Graduate Research Assistant. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Shukun taught and guided undergraduate students in experimental microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular and cellular biology. Additionally, Shukun conducted research and served as a Safety Officer. From 2012 to 2017, Shukun was an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Florida Institute of Technology, where they analyzed plant root system architectures and studied kin recognition phenomena.

Shukun Yang pursued their education in the field of Biochemistry, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Shukun studied at the institution from 2012 to 2016. After completing their undergraduate studies, they furthered their academic journey and enrolled in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they are currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry. This program began in 2017 and is expected to conclude in 2023.
