Position Summary: Promesa Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs and promote their academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify students with speech, language, and communication disorders. Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to diagnose speech and language impairments. Develop and maintain accurate records of assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

  • Intervention and Treatment: Create and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' speech and language needs. Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups. Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication development. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on speech and language goals and services. Offer consultation and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support students' communication skills in the classroom.

  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement school-wide programs to promote speech and language development. Provide workshops and training sessions for parents and staff on speech and language development and strategies for support. Stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy through ongoing professional development.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all services are provided in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all assessments, treatments, and communications. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
