Kiah Collier is a data reporter at ProPublica. Kiah was previously a reporter and associate editor at the Texas Tribune, where they covered public education, energy and the environment. Kiah also served as a part-time editor at the Tribune. Prior to that, they were a reporter at the Austin American-Statesman, where they covered Texas state politics and government, with a focus on the budget, public education and pensions. Before that, they were a reporter at the Houston Chronicle, where they reported on Harris County government and the Port of Houston Authority. Her stories on an incompetent family court judge sparked two grand jury investigations that ultimately led to their resignation. Kiah has also worked as a senior news reporter at the San Angelo Standard-Times and as an intern at KUT Radio.

Kiah Collier holds a BA/BJ in Philosophy/Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and also studied Spanish and International Relations at Universidad Pablo de Olavide.
