Cheryl Murphy

Head, Grants Management & Strategy at PureTech Health

Cheryl Murphy, PhD, is head of grants management and strategy at PureTech. Under her leadership, PureTech and its Founded Entities have won several multi-million-dollar awards from the Department of Defense (DoD), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator (CARB-X), among others. Prior to joining PureTech, Dr. Murphy was associate director for programs in psychiatric genetics and microbial genomics at the Broad Institute. Her career also includes research, business development and program management roles in the biotech industry, including at RiboNovix, Inc., Agenus (formerly Antigenics) and Aquila Biopharmaceuticals (acquired by Antigenics). She is the author of over 20 publications and an inventor on several patents. Dr. Murphy received a BA in biology and chemistry from Williams College and a PhD in microbiology from Duke University.
