Jeff Torrance

SVP & GM, Connected Smart Systems - Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. at Qualcomm

Dr. Jeff Torrance serves as the senior vice president and general manager of the Connected Smart Systems (CSS) business within Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., where he is responsible for Qualcomm’s IoT strategy, product portfolios, P&L, customer relationships, ecosystem development and execution to unlock opportunities in the IoT value chain and help enterprises and industry customers harness the potential of how IoT can transform their business.

Jeff has more than 25 years of experience spanning across consulting, investor relations, and business management and development. He began his career at IBM, and later worked at PA Consulting where he analyzed, developed, and co-authored strategic recommendations for blue chip-clients. In 1999, he co-founded UbiNetics, a pioneering 3G technology company, where he became senior vice president.

Just prior to joining Qualcomm, Jeff served as vice president of investor relations and corporate development at CSR, where he led the company’s strategic transformation to grow outside the mobile handset business. He moved to Qualcomm following the company’s acquisition of CSR and has been instrumental in helping to grow the IoT business.

Jeff holds a Ph.D. in digital modulation from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
