Mary Hui

Reporter, Asia Bureau at Quartz

Mary Hui is a reporter for Quartz's Asia bureau. Mary was previously a research assistant at The University of Hong Kong, where they worked with Zhigang Tao, HSBC Professor in Global Economy and Business Strategy, on researching multinational strategy in China. Hui has also interned at The Washington Post, where they covered local news with a focus on social issues, and at The South China Morning Post SCMP, where they pitched, reported and wrote features for the weekly Post Magazine. In addition to their work as a journalist, Hui has also interned at TimeOut Hong Kong and the International Herald Tribune.

Mary Hui's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in Spanish and Portuguese with a Politics track – High Honours, as well as an International Baccalaureate from Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. Mary also attended South Island School.

Mary Hui reports to Tripti Lahiri, Asia Bureau Chief.
