Emily Yates has over 10 years of professional experience in the creative and marketing fields. Emily began their career in 2010 as a Field Reporter for WAKE TV News, where they developed and conducted on-camera reporting and interviewing for weekly news packages. Emily then worked as a Blogging and Social Media Intern for Dormify in 2010, where they utilized social media sites to promote products. In 2011, they held the role of Public Relations Chairman for Kappa Kappa Gamma - Zeta Psi Chapter, leading a 20-member PR team to promote the sorority. Emily also held the role of Events Section Editor and News Section Writer for Her Campus, managing a team of 12 and pitching content ideas. In 2012, they were the Assistant Development Manager for RiverRun International Film Festival, acting as a Festival liaison and providing administrative support. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at ContentAsia as a Writer/Editor and Digital Marketing Specialist, and at Red Ventures as a Marketing Associate and Web Copywriter. From 2015 to 2018, Emily was Self-Employed as a Freelance Copywriter and Digital Branding Expert. Emily then worked at Questus from 2018 to the present, holding roles as Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, Senior Copywriter, and Copywriter.

Emily Yates attended Walt Whitman High School, followed by Wake Forest University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English with Journalism. During their time at Wake Forest University, they also spent a semester abroad at Casa Artom in Venice, Italy.
