David Balls

David Balls is the current Human Resources Director at Rank Group. Prior to this, they served as Principal (Human Resources) Consultant at Pulse Limited from January 2008 to March 2013. In this role, David was responsible for acting as the Principal Consultant on interim and consultancy assignments across multiple clients.

In their current role at Rank Group, David is responsible for programme managing the roll out of a new concept over a 12 month period. This demanding project requires a capital investment of £6 million and a minimum revenue increase of 18% at each of the four inaugural sites.

Prior to their work at Rank Group, David was engaged by Achilles, an information services provider, to programme manage a global change project for the Sales division over a 12 month period. This included the harmonisation of terms and conditions across circa 30 professionals, the design and implementation of a new commission scheme and the implementation of leadership and cultural change courses, focusing on performance management.

David was also previously engaged by Aldermore, the challenger bank, to create and execute on a 9 month enterprise wide resourcing strategy to deliver headcount growth of 18% per annum. In this role, David also delivered commercially focused talent management and leadership development approaches to underpin succession planning.

Most recently, David was engaged by Nationwide to deliver the opening of a new commercial operation in Dublin with Treasury assets in excess of £10bn and a headcount of approximately 30. This project was completed within a

David Balls studied Occupational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London, and previously studied Psychology at the University of York.
