Rapid Medical appoints James Romero President, Americas, Rapid Medical

Rapid Medical, a company focused on the development of the first class of responsive, adjustable neurovascular devices, has appointed James Romero President, Americas.

Romero will be tasked with overseeing the growth and commercial expansion of the company’s advanced neurovascular technologies, specifically designed to treat hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. His expertise will help Rapid Medical pursue their vision fo developing game-changing devices for neurovascular treatments by utilizing novel manufacturing technologies.

“James brings a breadth of experience and depth of knowledge of the neurovascular field that will greatly augment our commercial development,” commented Ronen Eckhouse, CEO and co-founder of Rapid Medical. “We are planning to launch three products in the US alone this year. As we continue to expand our portfolio across the Americas, James’ understanding of the markets and their dynamics will be an integral part of our success.”

Romero joins Rapid Medical after accruing 20 years of experience in sales leadership roles with both growth-stage and large medical device companies. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales, North America, for Medtronic’s neurovascular division. He was able to lead Medtronic through a period of significant growth and transformation, at a rate that stayed ahead of the market.

“Rapid Medical’s portfolio of devices provides enhanced control over procedural outcomes and is poised to revolutionize stroke treatment,” added Romero. “I am very impressed with the team and the company’s achievements thus far. The future is exciting for Rapid Medical and stroke therapy.”
