Relation Therapeutics
James Opzoomer is a seasoned scientist specializing in oncology and cancer biology, currently serving as a Senior Scientist in the Innovation Lab at Relation since March 2024. Previously, James held the position of Research Fellow in Single Cell Genomics at the UCL Cancer Institute from October 2020 to March 2024, where research was funded by the MRC under the guidance of Dr. Chris Tape. James also contributed as a BSF Fellow at Wilbe for a brief period in 2021 and completed a Ph.D. at King's College London from 2016 to 2020. Earlier research activities include roles as a graduate researcher at the Cancer Antibody Discovery and Immunotherapy Unit and a research assistant at various prestigious institutions such as the Whitehead Institute and DNA Electronics, where James was involved in innovative projects related to cancer therapy and diagnostic devices. Academic qualifications include a BSc in Biochemistry from McGill University and a Master’s Degree in Immunology from King's College London.
