Rebekah Watkins

Rebekah Watkins is currently a Data Viz at Remix. Rebekah has previous experience working as a Data Analytics & Visualization Manager, GIS Technician, and an Academic Tutor. Rebekah has also interned as a GIS Student Intern and worked as a National Service Assistant.

Rebekah graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2014 with a degree in GIS. While they were still in school, they worked as an Academic Tutor and interned at the Community Research Institute at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy. After graduation, they worked at Stiles Machinery as a National Service Assistant before being hired by Apple via Apex as a GIS Technician in December 2015.

At Apple, Rebekah was responsible for analyzing, validating, and enhancing data content and assembling new content for consumer applications. Rebekah also assisted others with daily issues that may arise, QA/QCed others work, compiled team/project reports and metrics, created training material and trained new hires. In April 2017, they left Apple to join Remix as their Data Analytics & Visualization Manager.

In their current role at Remix, Rebekah is responsible for leading the data analytics and visualization team. Rebekah works closely with the engineering team to help design and implement data-driven features that improve the user experience of the Remix platform.

Rebekah Watkins has a graduate certificate in digital mapping from the University of Kentucky, a bachelor's degree in geography from Grand Valley State University, and a full stack web development certification from freeCodeCamp. Rebekah also has certifications in R programming and the data scientist's toolbox from Coursera, and a certification in geographic information systems from Grand Valley State University.
