Uma Chingunde

VP, Engineering at Render

Uma Chingunde is currently the VP of Engineering at Render. Uma has previously worked as an Engineering Manager at Stripe and VMware, and a Senior Engineering Manager at Delphix.

Chingunde has been in the engineering field for over 10 years. Uma began their career at VMware in 2008, where they worked for seven years before moving to Delphix. At Delphix, they led multiple teams for the Virtualization Engine Application Platform. In 2015, they became an Engineering Manager at Stripe.

As the Head of Compute at Stripe, Chingunde led a set of teams that empowered Stripe engineers to build and operate their services and systems with world-class security, scale, reliability, and productivity. Compute operated the entire run time environment of Stripe during an extremely high growth period for Stripe and all of that growth ran through Chingunde's platform. Uma supported the team during a period of rapid growth from 12 to 40+ engineers and 4 managers, spinning out additional teams through this period.

Chingunde is currently the VP of Engineering at Render. In this role, they are responsible for all aspects of the engineering department, including managing budgets, staffing, and product development.

Uma Chingunde holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University.
