Eric Bowen

General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Renewable Energy Group

For more than 20 years, Eric M. Bowen has helped build innovative businesses. Mr. Bowen currently serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG). Prior to assuming the General Counsel position, Mr. Bowen was REG's Vice President, Corporate Business Development & Legal Affairs. Mr. Bowen joined REG in 2010 as Executive Director, Corporate Business Development & Legal Affairs and led REG's Life Sciences business from its inception in 2014 through its divestiture in 2019.

Prior to joining REG, Mr. Bowen was Founder, President & CEO of Tellurian Biodiesel, Inc. (acquired by REG). Prior to entering the clean fuels industry, Mr. Bowen advised technology start-ups in Silicon Valley at Venture Law Group. Mr. Bowen has been instrumental in crafting landmark clean fuels policies, including California's low carbon fuel standard. Mr. Bowen was a founding member of the California Advanced Biofuels Alliance, serving as chairman from 2007-2012. He also served on the California LCFS Advisory Panel, Mayor Gavin Newsom's Clean Technology Advisory Counsel and as chairman of the San Francisco Biodiesel Taskforce.

Mr. Bowen serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Forge Hydrocarbons, a Canadian renewable diesel technology development company.

Mr. Bowen holds a J.D. from The University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. from the University of Oregon Honors College. Mr. Bowen was the recipient of the Ray Hawk Award - the highest honor given to a University of Oregon graduate for scholastic achievement and leadership.
