Rafa Vela Laina

Rafa Vela Laina is a seasoned geoscientist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Sr. Geology Advisor at Repsol Services Company since May 2024, and previously holding the position of Sr. Technical and S&E Manager for the Eagle Ford Business Unit at Repsol Oil & Gas USA from March 2020. Rafa's career includes significant roles such as a member of the Management Committee at Akakus Oil Operation, leading subsurface and field development teams at Repsol for various international projects, and managing innovative field development initiatives at YPF. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Degree in Data Science and Business Analytics from Texas McCombs School of Business, a Master's degree from Centro Superior de Formación Repsol, and a degree in Geology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
