Associate Professor Of Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design

Michael Kubo is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of architecture, currently serving as an Associate Professor of Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design since August 2023. Kubo has held the position of Director at Collective–LOK since June 2013 and previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Architectural History, Theory, and Criticism at the University of Houston from August 2017 to October 2023. Kubo's experience includes director roles at pinkcomma gallery (2010-2017) and Actar Publishers Inc. (2002-2008), as well as teaching positions at various esteemed institutions such as the University at Buffalo, University of Texas at Austin, and Pratt Institute. Kubo's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture and Art from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.Arch in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
