Richard S.

Richard S. is a highly experienced technical specialist in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechanisms, currently serving as a Senior Staff Technical Specialist at Rivian since July 2021. In this role, Richard S. provides expertise in the design and development of passive and active mechanisms, while collaborating with engineers to ensure best practices are followed. Prior to Rivian, Richard S. held various positions at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, contributing to the design and launch of rear power closure systems and leading the development of power release latching hardware for the Ram 1500 Multifunction Tailgate. Richard S. also has experience as a Compressor Engineering Student at Pratt & Whitney Canada and as a Mechanical Stress Analysis Associate at Celestica, further establishing a strong foundation in engineering principles. Richard S. holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Professional Masters Diploma in Aerospace Design Management from Ryerson University.
