Mélanie Couture

Mélanie Couture is a seasoned research professional with extensive experience in biological research and laboratory management. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at The Rockefeller University since February 2018, Mélanie coordinates import/export processes for the Vertebrate Genome Laboratory and oversees sample shipments. Previous roles include Lab Manager at McGill University, where Mélanie applied Eco-Evo-Devo approaches to study phenotypic diversity in ants, and a Scientific Animator at the Montreal Insectarium, promoting insect conservation. With a background in sustainable agriculture at various research institutions, including Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada, Mélanie has demonstrated proficiency in insect identification, data management, and fieldwork. Mélanie holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Université Laval and a Diploma in Applied Ecology Techniques from Collège de Sherbrooke.
