Ilya Asnis

Ilya Asnis, who joined Roku in 2015, oversees the Roku OS, including product, software engineering and user experience. Previously, he was vice president of engineering for Sling Media. Earlier, Ilya was director of engineering for XVD Corp. and director of software engineering at Digital Stream USA. He also had been supervisor of the Information Processing Laboratory at the St. Petersburg (Russia) State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, where he developed video compression technology, error-correction codes, and public-key cryptography. Ilya received bachelor’s and master's degrees in Computer Science from St. Petersburg (Russia) State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.
