Adaiah Hudgins-Lopez

Adaiah Hudgins-Lopez is an associate at Root Cause. Before joining Root Cause, Adaiah was a 2018 Teach for America Corps Member and a 2018 Development Fellow. As a Corps Member, she served as a fifth-grade teacher in the Atlanta Public Schools system. In the summer of 2019, she interned with Active Communities at the Crim Fitness Foundation in Flint, Michigan. There, she supported efforts to implement Complete Streets policy, conducted research on the intersections of social determinants of health and state policies, and advocated for transportation and health equity through policy at the county and state level. Additionally, Adaiah was a Summer Immigration Law Assistant with the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit’s Immigration Services, where she helped manage client caseloads and conducted immigration policy research.

Adaiah is a graduate of Bowdoin College, where she studied Anthropology and English. She was a recipient of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, in which she studied how storytelling can facilitate communication across difference.
