Hurriya Burney

Hurriya Burney is an accomplished finance professional with extensive leadership experience in the banking sector. Currently serving as Vice President in the Large Commercial, Corporate Client Group at RBC since November 2020, Hurriya has also held the position of Senior Director in National Group Risk Management and Vice President of Commercial Banking for the Burnaby, New West, and South Vancouver regions. Alongside a robust career at RBC, Hurriya contributes to various organizations as a board member, including the Immigrant Employment Council of BC and the Vancouver Writers Fest, where efforts focus on promoting literature and community engagement. Earlier experience includes a corporate relationship management role at Barclays Bank PLC. Hurriya holds an MBA in Finance from The University of British Columbia and a BA (Honors) in Economics & Business, English from Lafayette College.
