Richard Umbers

Richard Umbers is the Group Chief Executive at Ryman Healthcare. Prior to this, they were with Kaufland as a Divisional Board Director for Buying from October 2018 to July 2020. Before that, they were the CEO and Managing Director at MYER from September 2014 to July 2018. From January 2010 to July 2014, they were the CEO of StarTrack and the Exec GM of Parcel and Express Services at Australia Post. Prior to that, they held various management positions at Woolworths Supermarkets from January 2002 to December 2010.

Richard Umbers has a BSc hons in Geology & Geography from the University of Exeter, an MSc in Finance from the University of Leicester, and is a graduate of the Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Richard also has a commission in the Royal Engineers from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and is a master of science from the Royal School of Military Engineering. Richard is also certified by the UNSW Founders as a mentor, and by Stone & Chalk as a Board Member (Interim CEO Aug-Oct 2021). Richard is also certified by Advance.org as a Board Member, and by ADMA as a Board Member. Finally, they are an Advisory Board Member for the NORA Network: National Online Retail Association from 2013 to 2020.
