James Paterson

James Paterson is an accomplished Senior Scientist in Environment and Marine at SA Water since January 2022, with a strong background in marine biology and water quality research. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Flinders University, where notable projects involved the development of rapid SARS-CoV-2 detection methods, innovative testing for OsHV-1 in oysters, and studies on aquifer ecosystems. Earlier career highlights include serving as a Boat Captain at Concubine Yachting and working as a Research Assistant in various marine research capacities. James Paterson holds a PhD in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marine Biology from Flinders University.
