Brendan Miller

Postdoctoral Neuroscientist

Brendan Miller, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Neuroscientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where the focus is on developing computational tools to identify previously unannotated small genes and microproteins, as well as designing experimental platforms for characterizing novel peptides. Prior experience includes serving as a PhD student in Neuroscience at the University of Southern California, where Brendan discovered novel microproteins, and as a Research Technician at the Arizona State University Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Center, conducting immunohistochemistry and protein-based assays to support studies on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition also from Arizona State University.
